SnapBack is a Chrome extension designed to help you stay focused by detecting distractions during work sessions. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

Data Collection and Storage

SnapBack is designed with privacy as a core principle. All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's local storage API. We do not collect, transmit, or share any data with external servers or third parties.

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored locally on your device:

• Focus session settings (intent, duration, threshold)
• Distraction domain list (user-configurable)
• Tab time tracking data
• Session state and preferences
• Cooldown timers for distraction sites

This data remains on your device and is never transmitted over the network.

Permissions Used

SnapBack requires the following permissions to function:

• Tabs: To track active tabs and detect when you visit distraction sites
• Storage: To save your settings and session data locally on your device
• Scripting: To inject intervention overlays on distraction sites
• Idle: To detect when you're idle and adjust intervention timing accordingly
• Notifications: To notify you when focus sessions complete
• Host Permissions (all URLs): To access websites for distraction detection and overlay injection

These permissions are used solely for the extension's functionality and no data is collected or transmitted.

No Network Activity

SnapBack does not make any network requests. All functionality operates entirely offline using local browser storage and Chrome extension APIs. There is no communication with external servers.

Third-Party Services

SnapBack does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, advertising, or data collection services. The extension operates completely independently.

Data Deletion

You can delete all stored data at any time by:

• Uninstalling the extension (all data will be removed)
• Clearing Chrome's extension storage data
• Using Chrome's "Clear browsing data" feature for extension data

All data is stored locally and will be permanently removed when the extension is uninstalled.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
